Astra Sweets was originally a gingerbread factory. It was founded in 1924, on the initiative of the Van Deun company. Four years later, the foundations for today's confectionery production were laid. Following the acquisition of the FAAM, Frisia and Belgica Top brands, Astra Sweet has become one of the leading candy producers in the Netherlands, and now holds original recipes for products such as the famous powder-filled saucers.
